I need it both for personal and business use. I don’t mind if I have to go to separate companies for these two purposes. What is your opinion for VoxOx, Skype, Yahoo! Voice, and the other free or near-free VoIPs for personal use? I want to keep in touch with my friends overseas is one factor. Another factor is cost. The initial price isn’t a problem, but monthly outrageous bills are. I pay $50.00/mo. for a traditional landline with unlimited local calling (limited area) and 200 long distance calling. I maybe 26 years old, but I am extremely frugal and hate debt (Depression-era mentality as I was raised by my maternal grandparents who were kids in the Great Depression).
Please help me make a decision. Thank you in advance, my friends, as your advice and input are truly appreciative.

I want to have fixed ip addresses for the VOIP and the network printer. I setup static DNS addresses for three devices (server, printer, VOIP) and things seemed to be fine. That said, when the lease time expired the devices took different addresses and my whole network was a mess. Is there a way to make lease time infinite? Am I approaching this wrong (my logic off)?
Note: Static ips were outside DHCP range.

When I am using a skype usb phone, as it is I can only hear myself when I playback, never the other person at the other end of the line. What settings do I have to adjust to be able to record both ways? Please no other software is required other than windows sound recorder, so please don’t ask to go download …
The conversation is set to speaker on the voip software, although it is routed to askype usb phone, I still cannot hear the other person, just myself on playback.
