I would like to hire someone to create a VOIP software customized to my own specification. Since I do not know much about this, I would like to know how much it would cost to hire a proffessional to do the job for me.
If I could be reffered to a professional, I will be grateful

I want to create a software for my business where users should be able to call/msg from their PC to phone.
Something similar to http://www.voipcheap.com/en/download.html
Thanks in advance.

Well, you’re probably not looking to *create* it…
But, you should just look into Skype.
If you’ve got a decent business, and some money, look at Cisco’s VOIP solutions.

“Call ended cause you logged off”, but I didin’t touch even a button. But the problem is that I change my provider, earlier I could make any call in any destination, and now I can’t. I think it’s provider lock, I have a usb modem with a phone card in. An I asked theme if the modem supports voip calls and they answered that supports. But till now I cannot make calls. I tried to turn off my firewall and the same result. Help me to resolve this problem. Thank you a lot! The provider is TMN, Portugal!

I’ve used the Windows Fax over my VOIP and had no problems, so if that’s the ’software’ end of the question, then I vote Softie.

Whenever I talk to my friends on skype, or on WoW, I like watching videos on youtube at the same time. unfortunately, windows seems to have a function where it automatically mutes any other sounds when a VoIP application is running.
I already tried Control Panel > Sound > Communications > Do nothing but it is of no avail.
The problem is, if I am already watching a video before I open Skype, nothing is muted, but if i try to watch a video after skype is opened, or after i’m in a call, the video is muted.
A similar thing happens when I try to listen to music on iTunes when i’m in a call. the player outrights refuses to play music during a call, but if i am already listening to music, nothing is changed to the volume level.
I’m using windows 7 by the way. Is there any way to disable this muting of all other programs except skype when i’m in a call or using other VoIP software?

TRY THIS
start menu> control pannel> sound (the speaker icon)
select the device “speakers and dual headphone” or whaever shows up in your comp
on the bottom right > properties (click on this)
it will open property pannel for the selected device and u will see following tabs

This report was created for global strategic planners who cannot be content with traditional methods of segmenting world markets. With the advent of a “borderless world”, cities become a more important criteria in prioritizing markets, as opposed to regions, continents, or countries. This report covers the top 2000 cities in over 200 countries. It does so by reporting the estimated market size (in terms of latent demand) for each major city of the world. It then ranks these cities and reports them in terms of their size as a percent of the country where they are located, their geographic region (e.g. Africa, Asia, Europe, Middle East, North America, Latin America), and the total world market. In performing various economic analyses for its clients, I have been occasionally asked to investigate the market potential for various products and services across cities. The purpose of the studies is to understand the density of demand within a country and the extent to which a city might be used as a point of distribution within its region. From an economic perspective, however, a city does not represent a population within rigid geographical boundaries. To an economist or strategic planner, a city represents an area of dominant influence over markets in adjacent areas. This influence varies from one industry to another, but also from one period of time to another. In what follows, I summarize the economic potential for the world’s major cities for “peer-to-peer VoIP software” for the year 2007. The goal of this report is to report my findings on the real economic potential, or what an economist calls the latent demand, represented by a city when defined as an area of dominant influence. The reader needs to realize that latent demand may or may not represent real sales. For many items, latent demand is clearly observable in sales, as in the case for food or housing items. Consider, however, the category “satellite launch vehicles”. Clearly, there are no launch pads in most cities of the world. However, the core benefit of the vehicles (e.g. telecommunications, etc.) is “consumed” by residents or industries within the world’s cities. Without certain cities, in other words, the market for satellite launch vehicles would be lower for the world in general. One needs to allocate, therefore, a portion of the worldwide economic demand for launch vehicles to both regions and cities. This report takes the broader definition and considers, therefore, a city as a part of the global market.

if not whats a good IP PBX with software that provides voice messaging, voice mail, call waiting, etc?
if so whats a good software to put on the server that provides the above features?
also i need to know if you can connect about 25 ip phones through routers to the VoIP server/IP PBX.
right now i got 25 workstations (desktop + IP phone), i wanna know if i can connect the phones to the computers to reduce the amount of ethernet cable needed. each workstation will connect to a router (if needed in order to connect all workstations to IP PBX/ VoIP Server) and the router to the VoIP server/IP PBX. WILL THAT WORK???
Answer by Zarn
Umm… No, an IP PBX isn’t pretty much a server with VoIP software. Or rather, yes it is, but there are some signficant extras in order to provide interoperability with the regular phone network. Answering the rest of your question is something that is usually paid quite well, so I won’t. Here are some links:

Answer by ddominic
Voip software requires internet connection to your device to make phone calls. Bluetooth does not work with Voip software but rather Bluetooth is capable of transfering songs from your mp3 Insigna player to your computer. You will need bluetooth also on your computer to communicate with your Mp3 player.
