Do I need to download special software ? Do I need to have a WiFi or 3G connection ?
Answer by KLDubya
You need access to a Wifi connection and the right software or settings.
First create an access point with your Wifi connection (see user guide), then use it with your VOIP application.
If you haven’t picked one, try this one:

I want to use my Nokia N 95 8GB phones to make internet calls (VOiP), but I dont know how to make the settings in the phone, and what are the softwares required.
Answer by el tom
What you need is a [free] VoIP service and therefore a provider (Skype, Gizmo Project or maybe your own VoIP server/solution). Depending on the service you want to use the configuration varies and also the client you’re going to need to use.
With Gizmo they will provide you a wizard with the help of which you can configure N95’s built in VoIP client so that you can enjoy its integration in the phone dialer and phone book.
If you want to use Skype then you cannot use the buil-in VoIP client, instead you need to install a dedicated VoIP client (like Fring) which has its own configuration.

Hi I just got a nokia N80 and I was wondering how can I make VOIP calls?? and what is the best provider for Nokia N80 VOIP? is it Gizmo or is there a better provider (rates wise that is and voice quality)?? please can some one tell me, please??
Answer by hewyk
I think for N80, your only choice for now is Gizmo. Skype has only developed a client for the Nokia N800 tablet for Nokia range besides the MS Windows Mobile platform.
You can get the Gizmo VOIP client from the Download! Folder and then set up an account and start dialling after installation.
Enjoy.

I want to take advantage of VOIP on my nokia n95, if i can find a company/software to use that is free I can move to a lower priced contract on my network and save some money.
I heard trufone is good but they are only free until november.
I tried fring but it only works with my orange internet on my phone which aint free.
It won’t login when i try to use my home internet wireless connection

I have a Symbian 9 S60 V3 Nokia N82 phone and also a vpn connection on a broadband of 1 MBPS. Can you suggest any available mobile software, which I can download/buy to install on the phone and make VOIP calls?
Answer by jay_d
you would need account from a voip provider, for software you can use fring although N82 would also have its own built in sip client

Hi Friends,
I have Nokia E65 & E61i. I wanted to install Yahoo messenger on my phone so that I can make pc to pc call from messenger.
I dont know from where can I download; may be if some one can upload it on rapidshare.com and just send me the link. I will download it.
also if someone can explain me how to bypass proxy from Nokia E61i & E65 in UAE (Etisalat Network).
over here the proxy is so strict; I cannot open any voip calling software.
apparently I have found out V Buzzer which also works on Nokia Mobile.
Can somebody guide about this.
Thanks & Regards
Mustafa

Need VoIP, great battery life, and international service (my belief is that no matter WHERE you go, you’ll always find Nokia shops, but sometimes you’ll find other stuff in capitals, but not always.)
Also, what are some shortcomings of these phones? I hear the E71 is great overall, but has a terrible camera at night. Balance with price / cost.
What are the OUTSTANDING features of these phones that make them better than the rest in your opinion?
As far as Carriers and Coverage goes: which has the best plans balanced vs. cost, best coverage, least dropped calls, best audio clarity, etc.
Back to PHONES:
Need good audio clarity, a LOUD speakerphone, and a LOUD alarm, as well.
GOOD MUSIC OUTPUT A MUST! I was thinking of getting an iPhone, but I hear the HTC Fuze is even better! Is the sound great too?
Great OS with good apps and games a big plus. Will be traveling like mad and using VoIP internationally. (Personally, I think Windows Mobile works easiest with work apps, etc., but I haven’t used the others.)
OS MUST be stable.
The OS MUST support Skype or VoIP and Instant Messaging with Yahoo and others.
Full GPS Functionality and ease of use. GOOD INTERNATIONAL maps and local businesses too.
International Tech Support? Nokia wins hands down, unless others are good. HTC is from Taiwan, and Blackberry is from the USA. Samsung is from Korea.
A bit of ruggedness is a good thing when it’s a laptop-replacement used overseas while traveling.
3G optional, but must have HSDPA or EDGE.
Also, some phones (like the Nokia E71) is not available in the US with a data plan with a carrier like T-mobile or AT&T, but must be bought separately in its entirety! That’s an extra outlay of cash, though not a big problem, *IS* a consideration!
Why not get a $200 discount with a 2-year contract?
Please let me know who the carriers are with which phones too, that’s important!
Thanjks!
