As in Is it’s connection good enough to support voip?
Folks, my internet in India is a USB connection that goes into my laptop. Now, i wanted to connect a Vonage VoIP phone which accepts a RJ45 cable input. I’m wondering how do i go about doing that? I think 1 way would be if there’s a router that would accept a USB internet connection, and then i can run multiple ethernet cables from it, 1 to laptop and 1 to phone….but i dont know if such a router exists…pls help??

I mentioned in my last post that mobile is bridging the digital—not to mention analog— divide in India, with almost half as many new mobile accounts being opened just last January as there are Internet users in the entire country. And there are a host of interesting companies seeking to leverage that network as some kind of rudimentary, literally “dial-up,” Internet that extends far beyond the …

I use a SIP (VoIP) phone that requires a wired ethernet cable in order to run. I am going to be woking from a shared office space over the next month, but they can only offer me a wireless wifi internet connection.
I was wondering is there some sort of device (router, access point, I don’t know exactly, but something like that!!) that I can purchase that will pick up the wireless network, and then I can run an ethernet cable from this routing type device into my SIP phone?

I am looking for a new landline phone and it would be super useful to be able to check my answering machine messages (voice mail) from the internet. My work has VOIP phones that email me my phone messages when they are received and I wish I can find something somewhat similar for my landline. I would also need to get a 2 line system and hopefully the phone would be a DECT 6.0 phone so that it doesn’t screw up my wireless router. Bluetooth connectivity for cell phone would be icing on the cake. Thank you.
Please, do not talk about skype and voipstunt, which is not free to call computer to landline and voip doest not allowed to use in Nepal for free. tell me other one.

And how? If it’s a service like Vonage I understand they have a physical phone installed where you could connect it to the modem to make dial-up calls.
If it’s Y! Messenger then how would you use that number you buy from it to dial-up?
