Nextiva v s. Jive…which voip service is better for business?

I am relocating my business to my home and want to use VOIP. I have gotten quotes from several companies and all seem comparable. I am wondering which of these two has better call quality and reliability, as I am on the phones all day long and they are crucial. I have tried Vonage in the past and was very disappointed with the quality for business use. Thanks!
its getjive.com. The most important thing to me is call quality…no echoes, no lag…thats what i had with vonage.

Answer by MY PDA
Jive …………………………….better navigation applications.

Does VoIP phones work better than the headset?

The question is related to the quality of the comunication related to the usb phones and the classic headset.
Does the usb phone work better than the sound card system (I mean, the headset)? Is the same? Cuold you find any difference in speed of data processing?
The question is bassed in the lag of the beggining of every conversation I make with Skype using the headset. Should I buy the usb phone?
Regards and thanks

I’m looking to upgrade my business to better communications with Avaya VoIP?

Does Anyone know a reputable Avaya authorized dealer that can help get me setup with this type of system?

Answer by Amanda
Avaya VoIP systems have come to revolutionize the way we do business and it has become safe to say that it is the backbone of any business when concerning customer service, quality, and support.

I upgraded my business to Avaya’s Voice over IP systems because it allowed me to connect two different site locations without having to incur the expenses of dialing out every time.

TeleOptions in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was able to provide the above solution to me. They are Avaya Business Partners and provided great customer service and even flew their technicians out to help me instead of just over the phone.

Here is their information:

Teleoptions Inc
3540 West Prospect Road
Suite 207
Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309

http://www.teleoptions.net

Toll Free:1-877-597-9400
Office: 954-486-9400

Just ask for Martin. He helped me with the entire system.

What is the best business calling plan out there besides ATT. Is Voip better? Is vonage a good service to have?

I am trying to choose a better business calling plan because ATT is to expensive. Is Vonage ok? I would need a plan with two lines and a fax line. I dont make a lot of long distance calls. I would need to have it advertised.

Answer by hisChamp
I’ve had Vonage since January 2006 without any complaints or problems whatsoever. I have the unlimited .99 plan and love it. I can also send a fax by having the unlimited monthly plan very easily. They have excellent customer service too.

For a small business, what is better – VOIP or physical phone lines.. what phone system?

I am starting a small business with three employees. I would like to know whether it would be best to have a VOIP system or actually put in phone lines with a phone system. I will be working in the office and at my home at times while the others will be in the office mostly.

Answer by Jennifer
If you are starting from square one I would suggest you go with VoIP. There are fewer hardware requirements for a VoIP system. It is easy to have extensions in multiple locations if you want to have people “on-line” from home for example. It will be less expensive particularly if you are making long distance calls, and it is easy to scale the system to whatever size you need.

Here is a page with information on a few different SIP providers you can look into:

http://www.nch.com.au/talk/sip.html

And here is a page with several useful software applications for managing your phone system:

Hopefully you’ll find some of that information helpful. Good luck getting everything set up.

Magic Jack will not help you after purchase. We should keep the order lines busy and buy nothing, until better

I have tried the chat link, telephone numbers found on the web. I cannot get a live person. The answers they give on the site will not get the thing working again. I requested my password to get in members area to no avail. Any suggetions? Sure we could jam there avenues of getting new customers and not purchase anything, discourage new customers by telling the truth, but I’d rather they stand behind the product. Has anyone been able to take advantage of the second year deal? Has anyone else found that they could contact the company fine until the trial period was over? The chat link just goes in circles. Also, does anyone know how to get the thing up after a reformat. MJ suggested (in FAQs) a reformat and download, that did not work. You get what you pay for is to be expected. So I tolerated sometimes on sometimes off, crossing with my other voip etc… But they advertise in a way that makes you believe it will work for at least 1 year. Anyone else find that not to be so?
Ok. After searching the net forever I finally found 2 links that fixed the problem of the thing not “booting up.” No help from MJ in that area. However, now when the softphone comes up it says my MJ is already activated and asks for my email or phone # and password. When I request password info from MJ website, I’m told info is sent to my email addy. Over and over again. Days now and still no response. So I must say, the device itself is still usable. The customer service is really the problem for me. They have a refer a friend button on there site. Did you use that C.S ?
By the way thanks Roger for trying to help me solve my problem. I did try makinga MJ logon account, but that was b4 the links helped me get it working. Seems if I was sent my password info (I’ve never had to login at MJ) I’d be OK. I actually used it as a second phone for the kids. I use Vonage for myself.

For long distance calling within the United States, which is better Skype or Vonage?

It seems to me that Skype is not only cheaper, but also more versatile than Vonage. It’s almost too obvious to me that Skype is the all-around better deal. Or is there another VoIP service out there I should look into? Any input out there?

What switch is better CISCO OR AVAYA.?

I work with a large health care company. And we are looking into a new phone switch Solution.

We have over 400 analog phones and around 1000 digital phones at the main building. We also have around 10 smaller buildings that talk to the main building through a Nortel switch. That is what we have at present( Nortel ).

All of the smaller buildings that have shelves off our main also have analog lines. Not all of the buildings have fiber ties to them.

So the question is this. Which switch would be better in the long run. We will keep the main one we have for the time being as it is the newest of the bunch. We will be replacing the smaller ones first. But which system would be the better in this scenario.
