I have had Vonage for about a year now and it sucks! I have a very fast internet connection and have tried everything, but the sound quality of calls is crap, the line cuts in and out, very jittery….people have suggested I switch to a VoIP service called Packet8 and I was wondering if this service is better than Vonage?

Are there certain features or ratings I should look for? Or are they all interchangeable?
I have vonage and it sucks! It is always breaking up and dropping calls and I want to know a GOOD alternative.
I am relocating my business to my home and want to use VOIP. I have gotten quotes from several companies and all seem comparable. I am wondering which of these two has better call quality and reliability, as I am on the phones all day long and they are crucial. I have tried Vonage in the past and was very disappointed with the quality for business use. Thanks!
its getjive.com. The most important thing to me is call quality…no echoes, no lag…thats what i had with vonage.
do you get better sound quality using a voip phone as opposed to a headset when using SKYPE ?
I am thinking of buying a phone, in the hope that the sound qualiy will be better than the headset that i am currently using.
I find that there a currently bad delays when using the headset.
issues about 911 dialing may rise to the surface but more people would like to save as much as 50% on phone bill…plus voip requires broadband…
The question is related to the quality of the comunication related to the usb phones and the classic headset.
Does the usb phone work better than the sound card system (I mean, the headset)? Is the same? Cuold you find any difference in speed of data processing?
The question is bassed in the lag of the beggining of every conversation I make with Skype using the headset. Should I buy the usb phone?
Regards and thanks

Just wanted to do a little comparison, I had both of them and I think Landline sounds clearer, and it works when the power goes out. Then there’s VOIP which saves you a lot of money and gives you all the calling features, but the sound quality isn’t as clear as landline. Also VOIP will not work when the power goes out. Overall, which is considered to be more reliable?
